The small shredder that punches above its weight

The HL 2/7/10 is a very sturdy wood shredder that is more than capable of takin on the shredding wood day in – day out, thanks to its sturdy design and underlying technology. The machine is designed for a long service life and energy efficiency. As with all the Scanhugger shredder line-up the HL 2/7/10 offers a large range of customization.

The HL 2/7/10 is made for one thing; making your work day easier. Thanks to the rotor and shafts that are turned from one piece of steel grade ST.60 and the heavy duty rotor bearings the shredder is sure to take whatever you though at it. The proven and reliable gear damping and special diamond shaped knives ensures this wood shredder has very low maintenance requirements and a long service life. This in turn gives you more time for what is really important – your fabrication of the best material the world has to offer! Not surprisingly this is one of the most popular models among carpenters and joineries.

The well-thought-out machine is equipped with our PLC-driven horizontal RAM system that ensures optimal feeding input. To protect the wood shredder from possible cutting unit damage, the HL 2/7/10 is equipped with an automatic foreign objects detection mechanism including automatic shutdown. Added to this is an automatic reverse at startup to prevent both motor overload and ejection of foreign objects.

In addition, the HL 2/7/10 features a mechanism that detects foreign objects and automatically shuts down the shredder. This prevents damage to the cutting unit. Energy efficiency plays a big role in the HL 2/7/10. When it idles for more than 3 minutes, the machine automatically shuts down. This saves energy and simultaneously reduces operating costs.

The unique knife design can easily shred residual timber and pallets and only requires a drive capacity of 11 kW. The HL 2/7/10 produces high-quality granulate that is well suited for thermal utilization or further refinement for briquetting.

We offer turnkey solutions with high customizability. Each of our wood shredders is customized to your needs. The machines can be equipped with a metal separator, a conveyor system or a customized hopper or combined with other machines for further refinement of the granulate.

Scanhugger steel knife with pucket design

Our knife design and precision mounting arrangement ensure long tool life, optimal chip quality, and easy maintenance. Our exclusive machined chip pocket in front of each knife position allows for chips to clear out of the cut, thereby maximizing the cutting action and the output of the chips. The knife can be rotated up to four times which allows for longer uses of a single blade. The knife and the precision mounting arrangement ensure a long tool life, optimal chip quality, and easy maintenance.

The rotor, knife design together with the heavy duty chip screen ensures a high chip quality. The screen has square perforations ranging from 15 - 70 mm. which helps ensure the heterogeneous chip size. The produced chip then be used as fuel or as a raw material for production of animal bedding, or for further processing for briquettes and pellets.
